PHYLLIS TUCKWELL HOSPICE LIVING APPEAL

PHYLLIS TUCKWELL HOSPICE LIVING APPEAL

HOW YOU CAN HELP

There are loads of ways to help the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. Here are some ideas to give you inspiration – we aim to make it as easy as possible to give to the Hospice so if we’ve overlooked something or nothing in this list appeals to you, please contact the fundraising team fundraising@pth.org.uk.

Please don’t forget that it costs £10,000 a DAY to run the Hospice and we rely on the public to donate 84p of every £1 that we spend.  Your support really does matter.

Make a donation, set up a standing order or give from your pre-tax salary
Go to the donation page to find out which method suits you best

Donate shares and enjoy a double tax benefit
Contact our Finance Manager Pat Bowyer on 01252 729436 pat.bowyer@pth.org.uk who will help you work out what’s best for you and best for the Hospice.

Include the Hospice in your will
If you leave a gift to the Hospice in your will, it costs you nothing now and you may reduce the amount of inheritance tax payable on your estate.  We recommend you speak to your solicitor when you make or amend your will.

Fundraise for the Hospice
From marathons to coffee mornings, trekking to tea parties, we can offer you a huge range of activities that you can do to raise money for the Hospice. Send off for a fundraising pack for ideas, inspiration and sponsor forms.

Choose the Hospice as your charity of the year at work, at church, school, college or club
The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is great local charity that makes a real difference to the lives of your family, colleagues and neighbours. Why not choose the Hospice as your charity of the year – we’ll help you with fundraising ideas and materials and invite you to visit the Hospice to see how your money is spent.  Contact the Fundraising team at fundraising@pth.org.uk for more information

Volunteer your time or skills
Join the 600 volunteers and help on the wards, in the Day Hospice, in the garden or the shops, recycling or helping administration.

Recycle – we can turn your trash into cash!
We accept newspapers, white office paper (not shredded), mobile phones and accessories, printer cartridges and stamps cut from envelopes or whole collections in albums. Check out our recycling pages.

Remember someone special
Sponsor a light on the Hospice Christmas tree each year at Light up a Life or arrange donations to the Hospice in lieu of flowers at a funeral.  The Light up a Life Book of Remembrance is put on the main Hospice website each year.

Get clicking!
Use our webshop www.buy.at/phyllistuckwellhospice.org.uk to do your internet shopping (you’ll find Amazon, John Lewis and Marks and Spencers there) or use www.everyclick.com as your search engine. Both of these websites earn commission for the Hospice at no extra cost to you.

Get lucky!
Play the Tuckwell CHASE Hospice lottery – only £1 a week – and you could win £1000!   Pick up a membership form from the Hospice, or download one from www.tclottery.org.uk or buy single tickets from the Hospice or one of the ten shops.

Get sponsored!
We can help you do a sponsored parachute jump, international trek or UK walking or cycling events in aid of the Hospice. We can also help you set up your own webpage so that your friends, colleagues and family can sponsor you on-line. Contact Ruth Scammel, Ruth.Scammel@pth.org.uk telephone: 01252 729466 for more information.

Donate clothes
We need your books, CDs or bric-a-brac to sell in our shops.  We’d love your old furniture, vintage and retro clothing too.  A collection and delivery service is available for bulky or heavy items. Contact Tim Osborn tim.osborn@pth.org.uk on 01252 729449.

Bag it and Give
Have you got bags of charity shop items that you keep meaning to donate, but you’ve never quite got round to it? Or perhaps you can’t find a parking place near the charity shop or the items are too heavy or bulky to carry far?  Well stop feeling guilty and arrange a Bag it and Give session.  Arrange a date with our shops manager tim.osborn@pth.org.uk – he will bring the van to your car park at work, at school or at your club, and you and your colleagues and friends can all bring in those bags of stuff you’ve been meaning to get rid of.  Easy peasy!  We’ll even supply posters, cards and reminders for everyone so there’s no excuse for forgetting!
